Gabrielle Union is addressing plastic surgery rumors that have been floating in the atmosphere.
While speaking with People for a story published Thursday, Union said she hasn’t gotten a facelift — but does have a trick she uses instead.
“A high pony for a lady of a certain age is like a facelift,” the actor, 52, told the outlet at a promotion for a salon “experience” using her haircare line.
“As much as what happens or doesn’t happen with my face is speculated, if you can’t be missing for six months to get a facelift — which I’ve never been missing for six months, get it right — the high pony is going to snatch you.”
Union emphasized the ease of achieving the look, adding, “A high snatched pony is all you need — and it don’t cost you a thing.”
In October, Instagram account “Fashion Bomb Daily” posted several photos of Union and husband, Dwyane Wade, and users had strong opinions about the actor’s appearance. One user commented, “Need to take the fillers out,” while another wrote “Why would she do that to her face? I am devastated.”
The actor, who has been in the public eye since the ’90s, is no stranger to fans and followers criticizing her appearance.
While appearing on the podcast “Who What Wear with Hillary Kerr” last year, Union spoke out on harsh comments she received when she posted a swimsuit photo on Instagram.

The “Bring It On” actor recalled being told she was “too old” to wear that type of swimsuit and one user even remarked that she was “old enough to be somebody’s grandma.”
True to form, Union owned her body and said “you’re gonna see these cheeks until my ass literally falls off, and I might just wear a bikini in the casket.”
